Overview of Parc V at 785 Fifth Avenue

Parc V at 785 Fifth Avenue is a prestigious 19-story cooperative building completed in 1963 by the Fisher Brothers and designed by the renowned architectural firm Emery Roth & Sons. Located on the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 60th Street, the limestone-based building offers 66 residences with direct views of Central Park, Grand Army Plaza, and the Plaza Hotel.

The building's location is particularly notable, situated among Manhattan's most iconic landmarks including the Sherry-Netherland Hotel, the Pierre, and the Metropolitan Club. The property replaced several historic structures, including Henry J. Hardenbergh's Fifth Avenue Estates Building and the Park & Tilford Building.

Parc V gained significant attention in 2012 when its 12,000-square-foot penthouse, featuring an additional 5,000 square feet of outdoor space, sold for $54 million from socialite Denise Rich to media mogul David Geffen. The transaction marked one of the building's most notable sales.

Residents enjoy white-glove services including full-time doormen, a recently renovated fitness center, live-in superintendent, private storage, package room, maid and limousine service, and a parking garage with direct elevator access. The building offers the convenience of direct mail and newspaper delivery to apartments, with all utilities included in the maintenance.

The cooperative allows pied-a-terres and welcomes international buyers, with financing permitted up to 50%. A 2.5% flip tax applies to sales, and while the building maintains a no-pet policy, service animals are permitted. The building's ground floor has historically housed prestigious commercial tenants, including La Banque Continentale and more recently, luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet.

Despite its relatively understated architectural design compared to its neighbors, Parc V's prime location, comprehensive amenities, and high level of service have established it as one of Fifth Avenue's most sought-after residential buildings.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
